District 150 Classroom Grants

The Peoria Public Schools Foundation (PPSF) and The Yeomans Fund of the Community Foundation of Central Illinois (CFCI) are pleased to offer classroom grants to Peoria Public Schools teachers.

In 2013, PPS Foundation and CFCI have joined together to offer Classroom Grants through one simple application process.

Peoria Public Schools Classroom Grants are available to any Peoria Public Schools District teacher interested in additional projects to enrich the classroom experience. It is a competitive grant process that aligns with Peoria Public Schools strategic goals and the school improvement plan. Awards will be made in amounts of $1,000 or less.

While most grants address classroom initiatives from teachers, the selection committee will consider requests from other personnel (counselors, home school facilitators, etc.)

The Peoria Public Schools Foundation

Since 1998, PPSF has provided over $215,000 to classrooms and teachers throughout District 150. Its classroom grants program is designed to benefit students by supporting teachers, allowing professional educators to implement their most innovative ideas.

The Yeomans Fund of the Community Foundation of Central Illinois

In 1998, Murray and Rena Yeomans created The Yeomans Fund, an endowed fund with an emphasis on assisting the Peoria Public Schools system. Each year, a portion of The Yeomans Fund’s distributions are used to fund Peoria Public Schools District 150 Classroom grants. Since 2006, over $120,000 has been awarded to support PPS grant initiatives.

  • Maximum grant award is $1,000.
  • Funds must be used from October 2018 to May 1, 2019.
  • Application submission deadline is October 1, 2018* by midnight.
  • Applications will not be accepted after the deadline. Applications missing required materials will be considered incomplete. There will be no exceptions.
Commonly Overlooked Details:
  1. Grantees MUST obtain approval by the school’s principals before submitting a grant application.
  2. If your application is funded, keep track of your receipts. It is a requirement in the final evaluation to submit all receipts for expenses paid for by the grant. It is also the grantee’s responsibility to keep track of receipts. PPSF & CFCI will not contact another department to obtain receipts.
  3. Final evaluations are due by June 10, 2018. Failure to submit a completed evaluation by the deadline could result in the school being prohibited from future grant consideration.
  4. If, for some reason, the grant program’s focus changes, please contact Cindy Morris, PPSF President at 309-672-6738 or foundation@psd150.org.
